ONE AGREEMENT STANDS, THE OTHER DOES NOT EXIST

On June 17, 2018, North Macedonia and Greece signed an agreement according to which the Republic of Macedonia was renamed the Republic of North Macedonia, the citizens became Macedonians/citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia, and the language Macedonian. As a result of the agreement, Greece lifted its veto and Macedonia joined NATO. While Greece has pledged not to veto Macedonia’s entry into the EU, Bulgaria has not.
