Parliamentary elections are being held in Serbia on Sunday, October 25. The two main opponents, “Studentska lista” and the ruling SNS, are hinting at victory. The students’ two-year strategy is to tour the country, while the government, as in previous years, relies primarily on the media and coercion to stay in power. On this occasion, the PERSPEKTIVE team spoke with Professor Oliver Tosković, a professor of psychology at the University of Belgrade, who, after years of intellectual engagement, decided to accept the offer and join the student list of candidates for the Serbian parliament.
This interview is instructive both in its content and in its messages. The first question referred to the aggressive campaign of the ruling media and politicians who call students “terrorists”. “Ustasha”, “blockaders”, “enemies of Serbia” and the like. Isn’t that forcing divisions in Serbia, which is already divided?
