This is a small story about a great young man. When he saw how the flood in Jablanica was destroying everything around him, he set out to save people. First one, then another, then a third… He saved ten people from tragedy, the media in the region reported. Then tragedy befell him and he was taken away. His name is unknown. The Minister of Defense of BiH said that he was from the village of Zlate, in Jablanica, and that he had been next to the house where the young man had lived. He didn’t tell the media his name.
In newspapers, on portals, he only got half a line.
His picture should be on billboards instead of those that are there today. Those who allow illegal construction, who do not punish the illegal deforestation, who allow work in the Jablanica quarry. And now they come to Jablanica to express their condolences, talk about the natural disaster, and keep silent about what they didn’t do, but should have.
This is a small story, but it should be a big one.
