WHEN ELEPHANTS FIGHT, THE GRASS GETS TRAMPLED

On October 7, Hamas launched an attack on Israel in which 1,400 people were killed and about 240 hostages were taken in the Gaza Strip. Israel responded to this with airstrikes and ground attacks in which, according to the Palestinian health authorities, 10,000 Palestinians have been killed so far. The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for an immediate, permanent, and sustainable humanitarian truce between Israel and Hamas and unimpeded access aid to Gaza. Israel, on the other hand, says it will not stop until the hostages taken by Hamas are freed and the militant group that rules Gaza, which they say uses its people as a human shield, is eliminated.
