Stefan Bikic from Serbia and Vlad Opoljski from Ukraine became best friends in the US student exchange program. Even before leaving for Texas, they connected on social media and made a “pact” that their relationship would be fraternal. The war in Vlad’s home country started a few days later and their agreement immediately passed the most difficult test – Stefan hosted Vlad, his sister, and her daughter in his home.
