THEY LEAVE AND THE STATE DOESN’T CARE

Three youth organizations surveyed 355 young people aged 15 to 30 years in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lack of opportunities to get a job, an outdated education system, corruption and discrimination are the most frequently mentioned problems. Of those surveyed, 52.4% said they were willing to go abroad in search for job. That was also the topic of the conversation with young people in Brcko. When asked if they trust the authorities, 88.5 percent of young people answered negatively in the survey, and 62.8 percent said they do not believe in any institutions. The young people showed the least trust in the entity governments and the Presidency of BiH. Brcko’s youth have confirmed such distrust of officials.
