During the economic crisis, budget cuts and price freezes, the elected state officials in North Macedonia, that is, ministers and their deputies, directors and their deputies, the prime minister, president, and judges, received a 78% pay raise. Such an increase was made possible by the Constitutional Court after it rendered a decision that repealed two articles of the Law on Salaries of Officials.
