The hard-won right to vote, the right to choose and be elected, is under serious threat in Serbia today. Feminist and anti-fascist collectives marked March 8 in Belgrade by warning of the necessity for resistance and an end to silence. The initiative “March 8 Every Day” expressed demands for extraordinary parliamentary elections, equal participation of women at all levels of government, and called on all anti-fascist actors to form a broad front.
