WHO ARE THE ARROGANT “OWNERS” OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA AFRAID OF?

Has a frantic race to hunt for “foreign agents and witches” started?

Activists gathered on the Krajina Square in Banja Luka in protest against the draft Law on a Special Register and the Publicity of Work of Non-Profit Organizations, which had been the subject of public debate in the RS National Assembly on October 25, 2023. This law provides for the creation of a special register for NGOs funded by donations from international organizations, and is often referred to as the Law on “foreign agents”.

Judging by the “political activities” in the entity of Republika Srpska, currently the biggest enemies and threats to the future come from NGOs and journalists. In addition to the perpetual enemies – all those who were not born with the right ethnicity – they are now also enemies because they are not obedient and feel the need to think, work and act freely.

How terrible that sounds – “foreign agents”! On first thought on would think they are enemies working against the state, the institutions and the people. However, on second thought, why would we need foreign agents for that when actual politicians have been doing it for years?

What would we need “foreign agents” for when the “Owners” regularly travel from East to West, for informative talks in Russia, Turkey and Arab countries, Croatia, Serbia? They tap and listen in on whom they want, make threats against each other and against other powerful allies, and perform various other activities that are in the job descriptions of secret agents.

We have our local “owners” of parts of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina who openly disregard the law, human rights, and work solely in the interest of their parties with the aim of maintaining power and arrogantly grab what they can for themselves and their successors, while at the same time convincing the people that they, personally, are the biggest patriots and that only they can protect us from the others, who are the greatest enemies of their people. What they don’t talk about is how through “creative political activities” they impoverished “their” people, halted the development of the country and drove thousands of young people from their homeland. Sowing fear for years has been fruitful for the self-proclaimed saviors of their nations. The worse it is for the people of BiH, the better it is for them and guarantees their unhindered and continued reign of power.

A frantic race, waiting for the whistle to blow and for dogs foaming at the mouth to charge in a witch hunt and “foreign agents”. Witches are journalists who have preserved the credibility, courage and strength to work under brutal pressure and intimidation, huge financial penalties, threats that if they act freely and tell the truth they will be “dragged” in court by the arrogant rulers. “Foreign agents” are activists from non-governmental organizations who want to work on projects to emancipate the population, raise awareness and build a prosperous society. A free society where they will have the opportunity to remain in their own country without intimidation and threat of war or hatred on a daily basis, where they will be able to exercise elementary human rights, including the right to work, without the condition of belonging to the political party of the “Owner”, the right to a decent and dignified life in a beautiful country, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Such political activities of the “Owners” and their minions seem like a frantic attempt to keep “their people” trapped in ignorance, passivity, dullness, bombarded with crafted messages from the obedient media and with unconditional loyalty to political options that care only about themselves and fight only for their survival in power. In essence, fear is always at the root of intimidation.

AND THEY SHOULD BE SCARED, THEY WON’T GET AWAY WITH IT…
