For eight hours he beat his pregnant wife with his fists and a baseball bat in front of their children. He left her unconscious with three small children in front of the hospital. She died six days later. The four-page autopsy report describes her injuries. She also had scars from earlier violence. They caught him at the border. The prosecution asked he be charged with “felony murder”, but the court qualified it as “domestic violence with fatal consequences.” Citizens and non-governmental organizations have already protested twice against the impunity of violence against women.
