While the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, is waiting for the right moment to call elections, members of the student movement are training their fellow activists to recognize election fraud.
The regime attacks them from all possible sides. They are beaten, abused, eavesdropped on, imprisoned, expelled from college, stopped on the streets, and fined. They are accused of being enemies and traitors, while regime-controlled media constantly lies about them. A professional journalist was attacked with an axe. Professors who support them are expelled from their faculties. And they are still there even after 19 months, continuing their fight.

A new generation has come of age in Serbia. They lead the protests, and know that the authorities would like an incident, but they refuse to give it to them. They are not in a hurry.
“Some say we are the generation that refused to be silent. Maybe because all this has reached such depths, it became simple, and we had to raise our voices and stop being silent. It’s as if it’s more about survival, because it all went so deep that it reached everyone’s yard, the thresholds of our houses, so to speak. I think it is simply a natural response to the events and that it had to be that way.”
