AGAINST ETHNIC DIVISION IN THEATERS

Despite extremely difficult working conditions, poor finances, and the deteriorating state of its improvised space, the Mostar Youth Theater continues to gather a large number of amateur actors. Numerous political pressures aimed at splitting the theater in two and segregating young people have instead created the opposite effect. Most of Mostar’s theaters show no interest in helping one of the oldest amateur cultural collectives in the country. Sarah and Emina speak to PERSPECTIVE about why they chose to stay in this theater.
