BETWEEN A SALARY AND A SQUARE METER

Young people in Montenegro today, on average, become independent around the age of thirty. According to estimates, more than 20,000 people in Podgorica alone do not have a permanent housing solution. Young people who are just entering the labor market can rarely afford to buy an apartment. The discrepancy between salaries and prices per square meter further complicates the situation: the average price per square meter in new buildings ranges from 1,800 to 2,500 euros, while the average salary does not keep pace with this growth.
