The local elections in North Macedonia, held in October and November 2025, confirmed the dominance of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party, which won most mayoral seats, including in Skopje. However, the elections were marked by a historically low turnout. The new mayor of Skopje was elected with just over a third of the vote, and the same was the case in many other municipalities across the country.
