Skopje, like other cities in North Macedonia, has been high on the list of the most polluted cities in the world for years. This is especially true in the winter months. UNICEF recently announced that every ninth infant death in North Macedonia is linked to air pollution. In response to this and other alarming data, hundreds of citizens took to the streets of Skopje to ask the authorities: “What are your children breathing?”
