The citizens in Serbia have been protesting against violence and demanding changes in the media for weeks. They stand for different values than those that dominate the present media and political landscape. In response to the citizens’ protests, the government organized its own gathering, which was promoted as the largest rally in the history of Serbia. It ended in a fiasco for the president and was merely a convention of the ruling (SNS) party.
